Kathleen in Ohio emails: Can anyone tell us where the U.S. and UN forces have been the last 40 years when it comes to Gaddafi's human rights abuses?

@成人论坛_WHYS That is a sure way to anger many more people and trigger a world war.

Maxwell in Switzerland: This is a blatant display of imperialist arrogance of France, US and GB once more. They show lack of respect for human beings in other country, what make the difference from what they are doing now and Gaddafi fighting rebels? Why can't they do the same in Yemen, Saudi Arabia and other repressive regime in that region?

@成人论坛_WHYS Yemen and Bahrain are not similar to Libya. Gaddhafi is famous for being fickle-minded. He can't be trusted.

@成人论坛_WHYS Libya had posed a significant international threat considering its location and regime...however there is a catch 22 with this too

Jovitta posts: I don't dispute that imposing a no-fly zone was necessary. But what I'm still bewildered about is what is the air-strike all about? Why is no one stating clearly what the objective is? If it is to topple Gaddafi's government, why not just come out and say it?! What happens after the air-strikes? I don't see any real organization or leadership among the protestors in Libya, no structured/ organized political party etc like in Egypt/ Tunisia. So what's next?

Israr in Pakistan: UN should also play its role in the case of Bahrain otherwise its moves in Libya seem like partialism

Alebachew emails: I do agree that Mohammed Gaddafi is a bloody dictator, however and it should be the Libyans themselves who should overthrow him, not foreign powers, specially not the US, UK and France.

Don in Italy emails: The Allied forces and the Arab League should order Gaddafi, his sons, his daughter, army chiefs, to surrender themselves to the Allied forces. Gaddafi was stupid enough not to have read the hand writing on the wall.

Don in Nigeria: America should respect the diplomacy of libya, they have no right to launch war on libya. This is not gonna be over or make Gaddafi to step down. All things like this should be treated with diplomacy.

Senyo in Ghana: Hypocrisy at its best. Why is the west not going after mugabe but Gaddafi? its all because of oil n gas. Africa must stand against this neo-colonialist agenda, some AU we have! Viva Gaddafi

Chris in Oregon: Anyone who compares what the USA and it's allies are doing to what happened by the axis in wwIi needs to read the history books. The majority of the people in the country and region want freedom and asked for help.

Joy Abdullah: The Arab League's so-called statement on "not expecting the bombardment" is akin to turning tail. What is their ultimate objective? To provide Arab citizens their freedom of expression and a quality of life they deserve or only keeping archaic monarchies and dictators in place?
