On air at 1700 GMT: The future of the Arab Spring

| Friday, 4 April 2011 | 16:00 - 20:00 GMT

Hi there. We're a quarter of the way through another four-show Friday. Here's the rundown for the next three...

1500GMT ON ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ TV: THE FUTURE OF THE ARAB SPRING
In no particular order we'll consider:

- if NATO is experiencing 'mission creep' and if that's a problem if it does occur

- if more should be done to help civilians in Misrata, and if so what

- if the thousands of Syrians in Deraa currently calling for Pres Assad to go, need to accept that he's publicly committed to reform and allow him the chance to deliver on those commitments.

- whether the protestors in Bahrain have lost momentum because of an alleged recent crackdown

ON AIR AT 17&18GMT ON ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ RADIO: TBC...
...we'll decide this in the next hour or so (suggestions still welcome....). Keep an eye on the blog, but it's difficult to see us going too far beyond Syria. Libya and Bahrain.

WHYS EXTRA AT 1830GMT ON ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ TV
If you haven't seen it before, this show is short and sharp (it comes in at 8 minutes) and features some of your calls that we can't fit into the main TV edition.

And that is probably enough editions of WHYS for one day. Certainly enough for me (much as I enjoy talking with you all). Many more and I start reciting the text number involuntarily.

Enjoy the long weekend if you're in a part of the world where there are holidays. I'll be on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ World News TV from 0500GMT on Saturday if you'd like to keep me company.

Cheers, Ros

The President has absolute power in Syria which is why the people are still in the streets. Wissamtarif on Twitter asks the international community to stop the soft words because al-Assad is not a reformer, he is a dictator and our silence makes it worse. Sheila Mosley, UK

@³ÉÈËÂÛ̳_WHYS The sequence of events across Arab World indicates a sinister design. Too little coverage of Bahrain. Is it b'coz of US 5th Fleet?

Hi there, hope u get this. I am from Israel & very worried becuase i would love to live next to demotratic countries but it seems very unlikley that it would happen when the basic equality between woman and men does not even exist! I am affried that very dark people will take over, and then all the misary and miss fortune will be blamed on Israel ofcourse!!!

Lack of understanding old leaders and young generation. Young generation want equality in all among them , but older are different ...( like caste system) .

UN should protect and arm the rebels so at least they protect themselves from being killed by Gadaffi’s murdering & merciless army. From Linda

What is needed in libya is a rallying point for both cyrenaica and tripolitania and it is just possible that a descendant of king idris might be an acceptable constitutional monarch

The Arab revolution in Egypt and Tunisia is different from what’s happening in Libya right now. So there is nothing wrong in asking for international help in ousting the repressive Gadhafi regime. We should instead be more firm with our response to the atrocities inflicted on the civilians by gadhafi.

@³ÉÈËÂÛ̳_WHYS I think the us using drones to fight the pro gadaffi forces is a welcome idea.Gadaffi is a monster and should be taking down.
