Caught the show for the past few weeks and particularly enjoyed the beautician last Sunday - it's especially good to hear from a beautician who takes black hair and beauty seriously and recognises that there is a market out there for black skincare and make up!

Caught your show re windrush a few weeks back and ended up sitting in the drive until it ended. Didn't get the last two (forgot the time!!) but just wanted to say what excellent programmes they were, well researched and presented. good music too! I used to run a Dominican chorale "Sisserou" (based in Reading) performing caribbean cultural songs and we wrote and recorded a song in 1997 called 'Streets of Gold' based on our parents interpretations of when they came to the uk. Your programme brought back memories of the many discussions they had regarding their different experiences. Well done, keep up the good work - will try to cath the show more often! (ps any chance of getting a copy of last 2 progs?)

Hi LouiseBorn and bred in Dutch Guyana, I have been taught by my parents to do the things I can to the best of my ability. The concept of role models doesn't appeal to me. The whole environment, milieu if you like, is my domain to pick up ideas. Whatever you strive for at the end of the day you have to do it all by yourself. My mother is an Amerindian and my father from African dissent. They taught their children to look at people as human beings. But don't get me wrong, I am aware of black, Asian and caucasian perceptions. It is good to know all that's invented by blacks. However, what's been achieved by countries led by blacks is better for our image. Mugabe and his African colleagues as a bad case in point. We need more leaders like Nelson Mandella!!!!I like your program, though. Keep up the good work.Cheers Bill MonkauMiddelburg - Netherlands
