To Kill a Mockingbird - Themes overview

In her novel Harper Lee has chosen to discuss many issues, the most important one being prejudice. However, throughout To Kill a Mockingbird she has also chosen to look at the themes of family life and courage, which along with the theme of prejudice, can all be seen through the trial of Tom Robinson and in the daily lives of the inhabitants of Maycomb. Three main themes include:
