Men's wheelchair basketball action

The international body for wheelchair basketball is the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF). The national governing body is the Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball Association (GBWBA).

Wheelchair Basketball is open to wheelchair athletes, whose impairments may include paraplegia, lower limb amputation, cerebral palsy and polio. Athletes are classified according to physical ability and are given a points rating between one and 4.5. One point equates to the most severe disability, 4.5 to the least.

  • Is there sufficient space between the court and the walls to prevent crashes?
  • Are players able to right themselves and their chairs if they tip over?
