Mobile Day: Thursday June 11th
Do you use ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Mobile?
Next Thursday 11th June will be mobile day on the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Internet blog.
Dave and myself are working with the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳'s mobile teams on a day showcasing their work, and (like ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ iPlayer day) we want you, the people who use it, to get involved.
If there are questions you'd like answered ask them here and we'll try and answer them on the day. There'll also be a special session of questions and answers on our (if you want to tweet use a #³ÉÈËÂÛ̳MobileDay tag).
We also want your photos of you using the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳'s mobile services - and the more unusual the place you access our mobile site the better. Perhaps you've checked the weather at Everest Base Camp, watched iPlayer on top of Big Ben, looked up the football scores at a cricket match, or you just enjoy using it around the home, we want to see you.
If you've got photos of yourself using the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Mobile site, or pictures of where you use ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Mobile, post them to Flickr, tag them ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳MobileDay and next Thursday we aim to run a post with a selection of the best.

Why doesn't the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ have any iPhone or Ovi apps yet? Especially an iPlayer app for the iPhone.
Is there any progress with iPhone downloads for iPlayer?
Will live radio or television be available for the iPhone any time soon?
Could the iPhone iPlayer publish it's availability schedule in advance like the PC version? There are differences.

You can listen to all bbc radio stations on the Iphone using the wunder radio app.
It streams fine over 2g, 2.5g, 3g and obviously wifi.
Could anyone tell me why when i look at the cricket scoreboards page on my iphone it just displays an error message???
I have never been able to view any scoreboards and have to rely on the live text updates for the latest scores.
Thanks

I listen to live ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ radio on FStream app, there's lots of links/guides around the web on how to do that.
iPlayer - an app would be nice, but for the time being I'm just using www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/iplayer/index.html

I work on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Mobile. To answer your question about the cricket tables:
Our cricket results/tables/fixtures are currently only available in WML format. This is a format that was specifically designed for mobile phones in the early days of the mobile internet. However, some modern phones (such as the iPhone) don't support it. We are working to generate the statistics in XHTML format too and hope to have this in place within the next month or so.

We're looking at a range of options, including apps stores. However, our principle strategy is a web strategy one rather than app stores. We try to adhere to standard web technologies where possible.
Is there any progress with iPhone downloads for iPlayer?
Apple have proprietary download technology called Fairplay. No one has access to it. As soon as they open it up, we could potentially use it.
Will live radio or television be available for the iPhone any time soon?
It's not currently possible to listen live to ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ radio on a iPhone because the device doesn't support live streaming using standard web technologies and doesn't have an FM radio tuner. However, iPhone version 3.0 does now allow http streaming - so we are investigating what we can do with this.

I know. But you could build your own inside an app potentially, which is why I asked about apps in the first place.
