Coming Soon: Chris Lilley's new comedy Angry Boys

Post categories: ,Ìý

We're all very excited here at ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Three HQ about the brilliant and outrageous new comedy Angry Boys. It's written and performed by Australian comedian , who you might know from the excellent Summer Heights High that we showed on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Three in 2008.

Angry Boys is a hilarious mockumentary which explores the issues faced by young males today. As in Summer Heights High, Chris Lilley stars as multiple characters including S. Mouse, a deluded American rapper, champion surfer Blake Oakfield and Ruth 'Gran' Sims a guard at a juvenile detention facility. And these amazing twins Daniel and Nathan Sims...

The twins live in Dunt, Southern Australia where they skate, hang out with their mates and do 'mainees' in the street in their mum's car. They also give their mum's new boyfriend Steve a really hard time...

Aside from the twins, one of my favourite characters in Angry Boys has to be cruel and manipulative Jen, who is the pushy mother of Japanese/American skateboarder Tim "I'm Gay" Okazaki. She's also the founder of the "Gaystyle Enterprises" empire - trust me, wait until you see the merchandise!

We'll have photos and clips of all the characters on the Angry Boys website soon.

Angry Boys starts on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Three in June.

    SECRETS OF THE SUPERBRANDS: TECHNOLOGY
Slightly interesting but full of errors. The Internet for example has it origins in the mid 60's and came to the uk around 1972. It was good to see the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ micro but no mention of it's built in Internet capabilities like networking and view data (predecessor of HTML). It was also missed about apple having lead technology over the last 30years, producing the worlds first windows based computer, the Lisa, in 1982. When Microsoft were still adapting digital research's cp/m for use by IBM. The use of this revamped 30year old technology has held back the industry. Apple adopting the industry standard Linux operating system osx (which the Internet is built on) has kept them in the lead of this technology.
For myself I still have my first email instruction manual copyrighted 1983 and a magazine with articles on buying online also dated 1983. It is wrong to make out that the Internet is something new - it's not it may be more available, faster and therefore more flexible but it is not new even the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ transmitted a horizon program in the 1980's about the Internet and what could be done with it.

After watching my first episode of 'Angry Boys' and hearing 'S. Mouse's' language used i.e. the reoccuring use of the 'n' word I became displeased. I personally have never heard the 'n' word used on bbc three and find it extremely offensive and a dirty word. I believe the character can be played without the use of that word. Just a suggestion...
