Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan

Raj&Pablo | 09:55 UK time, Saturday, 21 November 2009

We have been in a social whirlwind in this city of celluloid dreams - we've been singing the classic song from C.I.D all the time, Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan.Ìý It totally sums up what we love- the magnetic madness of this city.

The home of Bollywood exudes its infectious magic in all walks of life. We caught the first show of 'Kurbaan' at 10.30am in a Bandra cinema and have to say we loved the experience.Ìý Harishita Kohli was giggling at our reactions throughout. We were amazed at how much people live, breath and get involved in watching a movie on the silver screen. ÌýPeople were laughing, whistling, shouting and gasping with ooohs and aahs all the way through. ÌýYou can even grab a samosa and chai to have with the film! Magical - if you ever go to India make sure you catch a movie - it'll give you an understanding of who the filmmakers make their movies for - the domestic market.

'Kurbaan' is a powerful, thought provoking film with superb performances from Kareena and Vivek. The buzz in Mumbai is strong and the industry wallahs all have a smile on their faces. ÌýDo listen to our review on the show later.Ìý

Socially it's been a whirlwhind - Harshita Kohli is officially renamed as Ms Party Kohli.Ìý We hooked up with a bearded Tarun Mansukani at the Taj - Dostana 2 is coming on nicely he says; Karan texted about Kurbaan; we caught a rock band debut at Malini Agarwal's night at the Hard Rock Café and met up with friends in South Mumbai while watching the sunrise over the bay.Ìý We also bumped into and laughed with the stunning Vidya Balan and hooked up with expats now making Mumbai their home at Firangi Paani.Ìý
