THE TOP 5...

Click on song titles for ChartBlog review and media.
Ìý 1 LEONA LEWIS 'A MOMENT LIKE THIS'
Ìý 2 TAKE THAT 'PATIENCE'
Ìý 3 IRON MAIDEN 'DIFFERENT WORLD'
Ìý 4 AKON Ft. EMINEM 'SMACK THAT'
Ìý 5 CASCADA 'TRULY MADLY DEEPLY'
The entire Top 40 is right here...

Yep, Leona's not shifting, and neither are Take That, even under a barrage of PURE METAL from the MAIDEN. And look who has suddenly come back into the Top 5...yes, Akominem!

Meanwhile McFly have taken an enormous (and undeserved) swan dive down from No.3 to No.20 (!), and Girls Aloud are on the wane too. But that's just because these were the singles that got lost in the week-before-Christmas melee. As if to prove this point, Razorlight's 'America' has gone up this week from No.23 to No.15. And the record which replaces it at No.23 is the one the band themselves put out only a fortnight ago, 'Before I Fall To Pieces'.

This means more people are buying Razorlight's old single than are buying their new one, and that's the joy of the new year chart. No-one gives a cack about buying new stuff, they're out hunting for bargains in the sales.

And seeing as you don't care, why should I?

*takes ball, goes home*

See you next week. Happy Hogmanay!
