It's the weekend!

Hello there it's Rachel here reporting in for blogging duties. It's Friday afternoon and I've just realised as Jocelin and I sit in the office that we didn't assign anyone to do a blog, so thought I'd write a few lines...

Hooray hooray it's Friday today. That always makes me smile, plus this weekend it's three days off. Yes, I'm afraid for all you Chris Moyles fans, the show is taking advantage of the bank holiday and won't be back on air until Tuesday. Don't worry though?.here comes my corporate bit?.we have a very packed week.

If you're a fan of the Killers listen on Tuesday as we've got a big announcement to do with the band. We've also got two guests coming in next week - Charlotte Church on Tuesday and Lemar on Thursday. Corporate bit over.

So, life has been a bit different for me this week. Aled's been studio producing, so I've been manning the fort in the day organising what's coming up in the next month or so. It was very peculiar at first, as for the first time in almost three years I was in the office in the afternoon. Plus I was awake!

I do love being in the studio, but it has been nice not waking up at 4:30am. What has been quite amusing is watching my boyfriend pull the duvet over his head when I put the radio on at 6:55am. If you listen to the show, you'll know Mr Rachel doesn't always catch much of it as he's usually sleeping. I think he's heard more this week when I get up than ever before. Oh and by the way, contrary to what Chris says he does have a job! Honest!

So not long to go until Pete Tong says the weekend officially starts?.I am planning to have a very chilled one. I went to a festival called the last weekend and I think I'm still recovering! Plus I have to do some serious training to do. The is about five weeks away. Dave, Carrie, Longman, myself and Mr Rachel are all doing it. I really don't know why and it's not as if I haven't done it before. I suppose it's a good way to attempt to keep fit.

Well have a good weekend whatever you do. Rave safe kids. Over and out Rach x

Does Trannie Rach ever leave a blog? If so can we hav a photo? I love the show, I discovered Radio 1 when my work decided to make me drive up and down the country on training courses and my car radio wouldn't pick up anything else! Now radio 1 is the only station I listen to and the saddest bit of my journey is when I lose you guys in the Dartford Tunnel. After a "bad experiance" with another radio station I had decided you were all scumbags (a really random story you probably don't want to hear), but you lot have me in tears of laughter each morning. And Scotts quite funny too.

Love you allxxxxxxxxxx
Kim ;-)

Good on ya guys! I wish I could do the Great North Run (as does my mother who's torn her cruciate ligaments!) however ill health and lack of fitness prevents me from doing so! One of these years I'm going to attempt it! Or at least watch it on the telly... ;-)

Running. I wish I could agree that it is a good way to keep fit. Unfortunately, I am forced to shake my head in absolute disagreement...

It all happened about 2 years ago, when I was at a conference in Miami. At the Hilton, don't you know. Anyway, outside the hotel was a boardwalk, stretching several km down the South beach. Aha, I thought, a chance to keep fit. I'll jog to the end and back.

Big mistake.

About 10 mins into my jog, my legs started to ache. Ahh, they're just warming up, I told myself. I'll keep going. 5 minutes later I slowed down to a walk and realised my legs were now seizing up. Maybe it was the hard boards on the boardwalk, I thought. I'll run on the sand. Oh dear. It was even harder to run on soft sand than hard boardwalk.

By now I was twenty minutes away from the hotel. I had to grin and bear it all the way back. I passed a couple of delegates and managed a weak smile through the pain. One of them stopped me and said 'you don't go running very often do you?'

'How very astute of you' I replied. 'How can you tell?'

'Mainly by the fact that you are still wearing your delegate name badge' he replied.

I looked down and with absolute horror realised that I was still attired in conference gear. Not only that but I was still carrying the attractive satchel loaded with the 300-page conference programme.

I could barely walk for a week, and I have never been running again.
