Well what a weekend, I was expecting trouping the colour and the London to Brighton bike ride, but not the other thing that happened, Captain underpants decided to surprise me late Friday afternoon with a marriage proposal! Oh and Chris showing us all the Numa video this morning.

But back to the engagement. It happened on a walk on Friday afternoon. I'd been a right moody cow all Friday morning, because I hadn't slept well, so why he wanted to marry me I don't know! But out in the field we went for our little walk. He was armed with wellies, a bottle of champers and of course the ring (regulation army surplus wear)

When he asked I got very excited and promptly squealed for the next 10 minutes, Oh My God was the phrase of choice, so much so that I forgot to give him an actual answer. I got the hint when he asked for a 2nd time and said yes. We then spent the rest of the walk chugging on champagne, it was very exciting.

The following day was spent celebrating in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen. Trouping the colour was an amazing experience and we were really close to all the action, sat amongst generals, officers and other very important army folk. We celebrated again in the afternoon with more bubbly, and then had to cycle 56 miles with a hangover on Sunday from London to Brighton.

The bike ride went very well, although took far longer than expected and no I didn't ride up the beacon. The whole day took about 8 hours, but we were in the saddle for 5 and a half. So after all that riding we then quaffed more champagne last night and I'm planning on living the stuff for the next month.
