I was born in Bibiani, Ghana, West Africa in 1960 at the Ahsanti Gold Mines where my Dad was Chief Engineer. I contracted malaria at the age of 6 weeks, I was really lucky that the camp Doctor (who was a locum) specialised in tropical diseases & he looked after me, turns out I had the malaria that affect the heart & brain, but as I say I was lucky, but I could have been another statistic.
I think what comic relief is doing in Africa & at home is fantastic, and for the small donation of just £5, you could give a family the joy of having their child/ren for so much longer by giving a small amount for an anti malaria net. Come on people dig deep lets give a little, it wasn't that long ago that we suffered from killer diseases in this country - measles, diptheria etc. I certainly didn't grudge giving to such a wonderful cause.
Comic Relief you are all fantastic people- more power to ya!
