I'm very pleased to say my guest blogger for the next week is Steve Knightley - one half of (or one third, these days) and one of the best songwriters these islands have produced.
His songs Red Diesel, Country Life and Roots are, in my opinion, are some of the best new songs to enter the folk canon in recent years.

The worst aspect of the job I do is that there's never enough time to get everything in.
At the end of every week I still find myself with a stack of unplayed CDs cursing and moaning that we've run out of time again.
I just wish I had more time so that I could play more of the great stuff that lies there on my CD library shelf.

It was shortly after I started presenting the folk show - some time way back in the mists of antikitty - that I got a phone call inviting me over to Galway for the launch of a new album. I knew Sean from his early work and was a great fan.

"A happy New Year to one and all" said Tiny Tim, as he bit the bum off the chocolate elephant, and I do hope that the coming year is as good to you as it was to him.
So far it's been el crapolata for me.
