Not quite Lord Ashcroft, but...
Mebyon Kernow's Cornwall councillor Stuart Cullimore appears to have been the party's only donor for most of last year. According to the Stuart donated 拢9,410.90 between 10th April 2009 and 29th December 2009. The Commission records four separate cash donations, ranging from 拢351.90 to 拢5,000, and describes Stuart's status as "individual." Nobody else gets a mention.
I'm sure there's a straightforward explanation for this, such as Stuart being the only one to pass round the collection tin at MK meetings. There is no requirement to list every small donor although some parties like to as it gives the impression they have lots of individual supporters.
And to put things into some sort of context, I haven't forgotten that Lord Ashcroft's Belize-based company Bearwood gave 拢5.1million to the Conservative Party - and that some of that money was probably spent somewhere in Cornwall at some time. A 14-month investigation by the Electoral commission found that not one single rule had been broken.

Unless you donate more than 拢5000 in a quarter then you are not required to list your donations. Some of us donate smaller amounts on a regular basis, so our donations are not reported.
What you should be asking about is how a billionaire like ashcroft is able to throw millions at one party in our system and whether this a fair playing field for ALL political parties. There is a limit to how much a candidate can spend in a constituency but no limit to how much parties can spend overall - this is patently absurd and an abuse of our democracy yet the 'establishment' barely passes comment on it.
Why is the 成人论坛 sucking up to this blatant corruption which stinks just as much as the expenses scandal which the Tories were most heavily implicated in?

MK and its finances
Radio Cornwall journalist Graham Smith recently blogged about MK and the fact that Stuart Cullimore is recorded as having given significant donations to the Party during the last financial year.
Graham blogged: 鈥淢ebyon Kernow's Cornwall councillor Stuart Cullimore appears to have been the party's only donor for most of last year. As a consequence of this, I did an interview with Radio Cornwall at 7.30 this morning. For reasons of accuracy and completeness, I would also like to make the following information known:
MK鈥檚 accounts for 2009-2010 have not yet been completed, but these will be submitted to the Electoral Commission by the end of July as required.
At this point however, I estimate that in 2009-2010, MK received donations of around 拢22,000. As well as Stuart鈥檚 generous donation, another member gave MK 拢5,000. Last year, we also received a donation of 拢3,000, another of 拢1,000 and numerous other donations ranging from a few pounds to 拢500.
We only had to report donations over 拢5,000 to the Electoral Commission. We did also report the 拢5,000 donation, but this was not published on the Electoral Commission website as it was not over 拢5,000.
Last year, four members also loaned MK a total of 拢7,000 to cover the costs of the General Election we have just fought.
I am extremely proud that MK is funded by the generosity of its ordinary members through member subscriptions 鈥 a bargain at 拢12 a year 鈥 and donations and local fundraising. We are truly a political party of and for the people of Cornwall."
