Cornwall's three Liberal Democrat MPs issued a statement yesterday welcoming the budget. Expect to see this statement re-published, five years from now, in the election leaflets of their (non-Conservative) opponents.

I welcome the Liberal Democrat decision to line up behind Conservative principles to sort out the mess left by the out-going Labour Government. In doing so I recognise that the Liberal Democrats have, for the sake of the nation, abandoned many of the commitments they make prior to the election.
