Brickin' it
So as you lot flopped me and didn't give me any suggestions as to what I should start my set off with, I'm currently in the process of 'ripping' from vinyl all the clean edits I could potentially need for the Official 1Xtra After Carnival party tomorrow night. Usually, I'd be cool but as mine and Seani B's sets are going to be broadcast live on air, I have to make sure the songs I play are profanity free...
Spoke with Seani yesterday - he was still in the 1Xtra offices when I came in to do the Sat Nite Mixtape, getting ready to go to Leeds for this weekend's carnival shenanigans; and from a deejay's point of view, you don't want to follow Seani B - he can and could play anything and everything so that tight set you started to work out - forget it! Seani has the tracks (he's also a Slappa 600 deejay like me, check your favourite search engine if you don't know what I'm on about) and he's a world class deejay so he will probably play what you wanted to! Thank god I made the switch to CDs otherwise I'd have *NO* chance! I've seen deejays reduced to tears having to follow Seani, knowing that he's killed the crowd with every track the other deejay has in their vinyl box!!
Tomorrow nite is a big deal so my approach is be prepared. So, everything I currently have in my CD crate that isn't a radio edit, is currently being ripped from my vinyl collection and those tracks that are just too dusty to rip, are being searched for on my favourite legal download sites.
Wanna hear how I fare? Listen live on 1Xtra and Radio 1from Midnight on Monday...

Damn right - I'm not one of those who steal music using those illegal sites, I pay for all my music downloads...
