Never before has there been a Formula 1 season like this... and it reached a glorious climax in Brazil. I've seen Jenson Button up close through good times and bad times. Becoming world champion couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke. And what about his Brawn team taking the constructors' crown in their debut season? a quick question, why hasn't anyone yet suggested Jenson for the other seat at McLaren? They can provide him with the car, the engine, the money. Mercedes like him (he's just won them a couple of World Chapionships), the boys at Woking would surely like to keep the No.1 on the car and they can't possibly build another dog like the one they started with this year. They have a track record unlike BAR/Honda/Brawn, all they don't have is Ross. Or will Mercedes be paying Jenson's World Champions wages at Brawn? Jenson for 2010!

At the end of last season, I thought Jensen's F1 race career was coming to a close. When he started, he was the youngest, and showed early promise, and then later in the Benneton, although he was very unlucky. I thought the move to BAR was a mistake, as I couldn't see them being a 'Top Team'. But Jensen stuck with them with Honda and persevered. I don't know who I'd choose to take the 2nd spot. Rubens has worked hard for it this season. He's had some rotten luck at times (and some tantrums) but he worked through it. With the title already in the bag for Jensen, Rubens should expect a great deal of support from his team-mate, and while he is now 2 points behind Vettel, I think Rubens has the better chance.
But I'd like Vettel to take it. He's a young driver, fighting fit and eager to win. He's got a good head on his shoulders, and a lot of talent. Asuming Red Bull have a good car again next year, I'd tip Vettel for the title.
Kobayashi certainly knows his way around in a formula 1 car. I think he handled himself very well during the race and qualifying. He's one to watch.

Despite personally wanting Rubens Barrichello to win, I have to say hats of to Jenson for a fantastic race...he is truly a worthy world champion and i wouldn't be surprised to see him win in Abu-Dhabi now that the pressure is off him.
My questions this week are:
- Do you think Kobayashi should have been penalised for cutting across on Nakajima
- Do you think that Brawn will still be winning championships next year
- Do you think Kobayashi could be a star of the future
- Whose fault was the accident between Jarno and Adrian...and on a slightly less serious note, who do you think would have won if they had a fight :), it looked like things were really going to kick off for a minute!

I find myself not celebrating an Englishman winning like I did last year. What little faith I had in the sport has been eroded and I don't believe that Button is the best driver out there, nice guy though I'm sure he is.

It was a pleasant change to see little interference from the stewards at Brazil this year compared to other recent races - making the commentary around various incidents a delight rather than an extended wait for the inevitable penalties. Late decisions (like 2003) rather demean the extraordinary professionalism of our commentary teams.
And how about the FIA introducing an extra podium award for the year's champion in case he doesn't finish on the top three at the deciding race? Even if it were only a bottle of champers?

Tremendous excitement and many superb overtaking manouvres, as we returned to this fantastic circuit.
Great to see Jenson Button win the title, and what an immense achievement for Brawn, in only their first season. This is good to see, and good for the sport, and also encouraging to those teams making their debut next year.
I must also send out my congrats to Kamui Kobayashi, who I thought did a brilliant job in the Toyota! Gave us lots to whoop about! I wonder if Toyota actually manage to lure Kimi Raikkonen into their midst...now that would be interesting...

I think if both cars are at their peak and running flawlessly, Jenson would win the majority of the races. However, if both were asked to adapt to certain misgivings or failings within the machine, Hamilton would be far better equipped to deal with them. It's an odd situation, where I believe the younger driver is the more mature, but Button is peerless when he feels everything is perfect for him.
Either way, we have two very talented and very humble world champions to celebrate, and I wish them both the best of luck next season.

The big difference between the Massa incident and the Kovalainen one was that Massa pulled up right at the end of the pit lane (way past the last garage) whereas Kovalainen stopped right in front of the Brawn pit!!
It was in Brawn's best interests to clear the fuel line from Heikki's car and waving him out just in case one of their drivers needed to come in.
