Your questions answered - part 15

Post categories:

Murray Walker | 15:14 UK time, Thursday, 12 November 2009

So it's farewell to 2009 a vintage season of action, rumour and excitement both on and off the track. But we can't say goodbye just yet, not without one final delve into the virtual postbag to answer some more of your questions. As it's the last one for a little while let's make it a bumper edition.

There are some great questions as usual this week, so please click on the video below to find out my thoughts. You asked who I thought had been the best driver in a non-championship winning car this season, hopefully you won't be too shocked by my answer. I also pick out my best moments of 2009 and, brilliantly, get given the chance to pick out the famous old grand prix tracks I would like the sport to go back to.

I also pick my own 'F1 dream team' - any two drivers, driving any one car from any era in F1. Great fun, let me know what you think of mine and feel free to chip in with your own selections.

Click on the video below to see my answers and thanks for all of your questions throughout the season.

Can't believe how quickly this season has gone, it only seems like a couple of months ago I was getting ready for the Oz weekend with its silly'o'clock race... Fantastic season and its been made all the better by hearing your dulcet tones Murray, can't wait for 2010!

Murray, thank you very much for answering my question, sir. I had to take a criticism or two from a fellow 606'er when I posted it, but it was fantastic to see that you entered into the spirit of what was intended. Loved your choice of drivers and car! Felt and shared your enthusiasm for the subject. Thanks Murray, you've got me walking on air now! Seeyou next season!!

How about a campain. Sir Murray Walker has a nice ring to it??? Or what about Murray Walker MBE ?? Love the blog great to hear Murray on top form.

  • Comment number 8.

Murray's already got an OBE, so an MBE would be a step down.

Best potential team combination of all time? How about Juan-Manuel Fangio and Michael Schumacher driving the Williams FW14B from 1992.

Just when I thought you were hibernating up pops this little gem....Alan Jones and Mansell in a turbo Brabham and a cheeky last answer to a question to wrap up the season nicely... for someone almost as old as Bilbo Baggins you're doing swell thank you very much - and if you're not back next season I'm sure I and many many others will be mightily cross with you ....so, Merry Christmas and see you next year...

    Hi Murray,

Many thanks for answering my question, and I agree entirely with your favourite moments of 2009. I'd also throw in Jenson running from the wrong parc fermé in Monaco!!!

A very merry Christmas to you and your family....and hope to see you back doing this in 2010.

First of all thanks for putting my Question on your vid murray,

Secondly what a great season its been since australia to abu dhabi and i can`t wait for 2010

Thirdly going back to your answer i think Sebastian Vettel did have a little bit of a championship car remember
Austarlia:would have been 2nd or third if he had not crashed into Kubica
Malaysia:Was currently running 6th until he spun
China: He won the race and Webber made it a 1-2

    HOW about Sir MURRAY walker

  • Comment number 17.

    Murray
What is the smallest number of cars that you think F1 should have in a race to give value for money and where were the people at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix?

  • Comment number 18.

    Great video, thank you!

  • Comment number 19.

Thanks for this and everything this year Murray, you've been great as usual!

  • Comment number 20.

Many thanks for your contribution to motor sport all these years.
I do love the latest video, many thanks

with Mclaren now having 2 british drivers, the posibility of Mercedes having 2 german drivers, where does it stop, could we be looking at a high speed high cost f1 type of A1 race??

  • Comment number 22.

I don't think we will see a high cost version of the A1 series, I think its more because there are now so few manufacturers heading up teams that they want to have a representative in the teams they now supply to.

I'm certainly looking forward to next season, and I agree with Murray that the Mclaren Honda of '88 is certainly one the top 5 cars to choose a dream team around.

I know this is nit picking a bit but it should be corrected. That is the mispronunciation of Kamui Kobayashi's name. I noticed all presenters where pronouncing it as kam(ooee) it is in fact kam(wii) as in the Nintendo Wii. I only mention it because everybody hates having their name pronounced wrong and even spelt wrong. Any way the guy deserves a seat next year after the stunning drives he put in.

On the 18th July my partner Jason will be 40 and I want to make it as memorable as possible. The last few years have been a dreadful time for him, a nasty bike accident saw his racing days end with endless operations & physio, then losing his job which led to personal & financial struggles. I want to show him how much I appreciate him and what would be better than a surprise from his all time heroes !

I’m planning or should I say attempting to collect 40 autographed pictures to be framed for his special day, can you help me ?

Your help would be greatly appreciated :@)
