Kieran Creagh
Spare a thought tonight for Fr Kieran Creagh, the Passionist priest form Belfast who is in a hospital in Johannesburg after being shot by robbers who entered the hospice he founded in Atteridgeville, near Pretoria. I interviewed Kieran about 18 months ago as part of a special edition of Sunday Sequence from Cape Town. He is a very special person. You may recall that he was named Irish International Personality of the Year in 2004 after he volunteered to be injected with a trial HIV vaccine (the first person in Africa to do so).
The hospice he founded in July 2004 is called , a Sesotho word which means "the place of love".

THE SENSELESS ATTACK TO OUR "Warrior of Christ" ~
Fr Kieran Creagh.
Dear Fr. Kieran,
I'm transmitting this message far away from my home
in South Africa. I write to let you know that in my capacity as a Zulu South African father and on behalf of all fathers and mothers, I write to express our deepest regret regarding the painful experience you went through in the very home you worked so hard to establish to help our destitute communities.
We're so very sorry about what happened to you,Father!
After having been shot by robbers who entered Leratong Hospice ~ the Place of Love, fervently, we entreat our good Lord and our Blessed Mother, Mary, to answer our prayers and restore you to good health. God be with you.
WE LOVE YOU!
