The Reverend Alex Salmond MSP
Scotland's First Minister got jolly for the weans last night.
the legendary Rikki Fulton did it in one of his original broadcasts from the late 70s. Thought for the Day has never been the same again. is one of my favourite Jolly sketches, which did for the Church of Scotland what Father Ted did for the Irish Catholic Church.

They're bringing back Yanni again with "Yanni Voices." and who can ignore Yanni's counterpart Andre' Rieu whom PBS has been broadcasting for a number of years. Meanwhile PBS eliminated Louis Rukeyser on Wall Street Week (he later died resulting from a car accident) and has brought back Bill Moyers. I think it is time for this anachronism in sharp steep decline which once offered a unique high quality alternative at public expense when we had only a handful of channels broadcast over the air and no cable TV to be disbanded. It is now a trash enterprise, it's few bright spots its nightly news, Charlie Rose, and Leon Charney. PBS has outlived its usefulness to the American viewers and taxpayers. I for one resent any of my tax dollars going to it any longer. It's time for it to die as dead financially as it has in all other ways.
