Hi there!

The podcast is lying in wait to be downloaded and heard for this week. If there is a guest you would like to find out more from or a site you heard about on Outriders that you would like to visit, then you are in the right place.

tame66.jpgThis week I got an email from the lovely who is climbing Mount Fuji in Japan. You might not think that's an Outrider's habit - but of course being a show about web explorers, it's maybe not a surprise that Joseph will be live streaming his journey.
You can follow his adventures on hit site as he records, streams video and tries his best to share one of the most spectacular dawns in the world with everyone online.

atkinson66.jpgWhat are your memories of past computer adverts? Do you remember the first time you saw a representation of a PC or business computer? The impact that advertising and design has on our view of computers as objects can influence the way we choose to use them. 's new book "Computer" covers the cultural and design issues around computing and throws into relief some interesting points about the way we see the electrical items we use more commonly today.

I'm going to be away for the next couple of weeks, but I have recorded some interesting interviews for your listening pleasure. In the meanwhile - you can still contact me via the usual channels. You can email me at Outriders at bbc dot co dot uk, say hello on
or indeed join the conversation by searching for us on Facebook.
