No newsletter
I don't know why - because I wrote it and I think Amanda sent it. But the newsletter doesn't seem to have arrived.
I wrote it at 12.46...but to be honest it still holds true. Here it is, with apologies for the lack of email.
Hello,
I wonder how many newsletters I've sent. How many have you received? Over on the blog we're celebrating 100 postings today. Hurrah.
The first bit of today's programme is - fluid. By which I mean we're not really sure and every time we think we've decided on something we change our minds. We do care, you know.
So what I'm going to write should not be taken as a guide to what we think the best stories of the day are. But they will be interesting, we think. For example, at around 4.30 I'll be recording an interview with the man who believes OJ Simpson murdered his son. Something nuclear too, though I've yet to be furnished with details of our expose. And a well known airline gets a kick in the pants from the Office of Fair Trading.
OK, it may not sound like much yet but my goodness it will be cooking with gas by 5.

Maybe Amanda got distracted by PMQ's. There is a shot of Tony Blair on the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ News page ( ) which shows him during today PMQ's looking strikingly like the late Mary Whitehouse. This is surely enough to distract anyone from pressing the send button on an email.

My entry in the previous blog about how to do links and italics has still not appeared, although the comment saying where was it has. But rather overtaken by people experimenting with other html tags having rather interesting results!
If you look at my blog (shameless plug, link on name), and you reply to a comment, along the top of the box are a set of buttons that allow you to italicise, embolden etc. Why cannot this blog have the same facility, rather than have us experiment like mad about the html tags? I know, that's a bit boring.
BTW all, I determined colour did not work on day 1 or 2. Great shame that, would enliven things a lot.
re POSTCARDS & STATS
Dear Dr Hackenbush,
I've been off for a few days (hence Eddie's misshapen photos) and have just trawled back through the archives to upload all the pointless postcards to the brand name site that I'm not allowed to mention.
I will be back in the office tomorrow and will try and sort Eddie's sizing problem out but I will also be busy putting in an expenses claim in for my phone bill for all those team photos taken on my mobile.

PS I spent a nerdy few hours on Saturday afternoon counting the numbers of daily comments per post over the past 2 weeks and I reckon that with a little manipulation of the statistics, PM's blog is the most popular ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ blog. More than 50% more popular than other blogs. But then Mrs Hazelby, my maths teacher, did beg me not to take Maths A Level.

Oh my gosh....just doing some blog housekeeping & was checking through the postcard archive. I couldn't understand why the Cumnock postcard attracted so many comments. Then I noticed the typo! Have corrected it and am blushing and wiping tears from my eyes. L
Eddie - if you think your simultaneous chime piece was confusing, you should have heard it here: R4 FM in one room and R4 digital, with a 2 second time lag, in another.
PS: Book still hasn't arrived. I live in hope.

Anyway, where'v'yer been? I really didn't buy into the suggestions that you were hung over. I'm tempted to "sing" my "happy birthday to you - for yesterday" song which we use at home to stretch out that special time of year, but I won't. It really doesn't scan very well.
Can you believe that Lissa only just noticed The Cumnock Incident? I bet it wouldn't have been possible to get away with actually frogging what was really there. Do you think there is a PM Blog Ken? Perhaps it's Eric. Or David. Or Simon. Or Manveen....

The newsletter was first sent on 15th Nov 2005 (I think) and since then I appear to have received 231 newsletters - I really should empty my Inbox. That doesn't include the few 'missing' ones or any that I may have deleted.

Teen daughter and pal have gone off for a speculative 17 year old trawl, and are touchingly keen that I don´t feel "bumped". Puts me in mind of a holiday I went on with My mum when I was not much older, and if memory serves correctly, I actually "bumped" her for the whole week.
Well TD and P are now looking over my shoulder and wanting to check out their stuff, haven´t time to trawl though and check what I´ve missed for the last couple of days ( not to mention weekend when pc went awol). Like I keep saying, who is keeping a frog log for me for the 25th ?(not to forget Fearless´ birthday cake - all back to my bikesheds remember).

If you doubt my motives, look back to when I let Stephen, leader of STROP, take first place of the day due to some archaine messing around on the blog which made me apparently first (when I knew I was not). I took first next day on pure merit (hanging around until Eddie's blog was first posted to get SB1 for sure). I don't want a fake first, I want PM frog to be first *on merit*, not some artificial fix.
Hi everyone, I'm back!! Yep, have just rolled in from Brum airpirt (other airports and cities are available, details on request). It is so nice to be home with a duvet (un-twizzled!) as opposed to a sheet & blanket hotel bed... Problem is that I'm far too awake after the 1h30 drive, so I doubt I'll get to sleep for another couple of hours at least. Anyone fancy staying up keeping me company?

Actually, that makes me think... Can anyone else think of a weekday news programme anywhere in the world that has managed to persuade its' listeners to send completely pointless postcards that may or may not got scanned then posted onto a frog (possibly contravening copyright laws)? Or a frog that may have no "official" value or depth whatsoever by the official (³ÉÈËÂÛ̳) rules, but has since become one of, if not the most popular blog on the network? I think this just shows that the power of the mad froggers has become a force to be reckoned with! Forget Mrs Pritchard... I say Eddie for Prime Minister!! Given all of us here, I think he'd be in with a chance of winning:))

Drinks, yes, thank you, W&G did have the desired effect. I'm not sure that it provided the much needed inspiration, but certainly took the edge off things. Hm, perhaps that was the wine.
Mrs H has been away at work training courses. She's back this evening and will be done for the mo.
Incidentally, will all the shenanigans on here invalidate the work that the lovely Lizzy with an a did on blog statistics? Obviously not in the sense that she counted entries before these ones arrived. But if anybody saw them, they'd have to wonder.
