Suits you, sir.
I salute you!
Eddie, you look like Jeremy Clarkson's younger brother. YEUGH!
Looks like a bit of domestic violence is evidenced. Who or what hit you?
Yours Aye,
ed
Hee hee. Can Big Sis do some other versions so that we can choose our favourite Eddie, please?
Don't do it Eddie
Eddie, you look like a chat show host. :-)
Rachel, are you SURE about that? After all, I rarely duck a challenge ....
Aagh! Gillian, I thought that too! For a split second I thought "Oh, do we have to have Clarkson on the blog?"!
Please Eric, don't do it!
Big Sis, you are a very, very bad girl today!
Big Sis - you truly are...well, words can not express it! (in a good way of course :) )
So that's where my hearthrug went
Shades of David Dickinson!
Minus the Tango-man fake tan.
Si.
Noice syrup.
FIFI!!!! - Eddie's got your cat on his head!
Oh dear!
Appy and Simon:
No need to insult Eric! he looks nothing like the gents you mention.
And you had the nerve, Appy, to take me to task for saying I thought there was a passing resemblance to Elvis? - and you're talking CLARKSON!?! Gasp!
It's Eddie Hair!
Eddie,
Watch it or there'll be Hell Toupee!
Well the jeremy Clarkson is an acceptable comment - but really Si, David Dickinson!!
Could have said Dale Winton I though, that could have been worse!
Jonnie - NOOOOOOOO! Never Jeremy Clarkson! Eddie's, well, much much too dashing, svelte, sophisticated, and nice for that. And certainly not Dale Winton.
Big Sister (15)
"Passing resemblance to Elvis"? But he's been dead for years . . Oh sorry . . see what you mean.
Welcome back, jonnie, and thanks for the stunning photos. Hope your trip went well. Everything's spick and span at the Cransley!
All I can think of is A Flock Of Seagulls!!!!
Carl (16) Good spot. Now, how do we get the continuity announcer or the newsreader to say tonight, "Time for PM, with Eddie Hair," or "Now, back to Eddie Hair"??
RJD (12) : Just what I was thinking.
"Daisy -- get back in the airing cupboard, NOW!!!"
Actually, even Becks doesn't really suit a Becks.
Fifi
Foxy pun!
Big Sis, I can't help it -- that's what I saw! What a shock! And you can't blame me: You did it to him!!! :-)
There have been a few suggestions for petitiions today. Can we make "Please Eric, don't get the Becks hairdo" a priority?
Silver-Fox (17) Hahahaha!
Maybe I should set up in the 'makeover' business. Perhaps I could even do a makeover on Clarkson (?!)
So, what hairstyle for Eric, then? Suggestions welcomed.
Mair Hair!!
Less is more, Eddie, we love you just the way you are. Good pic though - have you thought about adopting the Beckham headband look as well?
Either a Mohican, or a perruque
But, Aunt Dahlia, a perruqe is a wig isn't it?
Just what are you implying?
How about ?
xx
ed
Ed I (31) Hahahaha. Is that your beard?
Anyone remember 'Up Pompei!' ?
Mollyxx
Yup. Well spotted, RJD.
Now Molly, that's unkind. And I wasn't meaning to be unkind.
All I wanted was to make Eddie's wish come true.
Honest!
Ed I (31) Great photo! LOL
Big Sis - thankyou!!!!
ah.... nice work with the ol' Barbershop there... actually, maybe I should go to your barbers... usually I use Bics but a Becks..?
and tsk tsk RJD (13) - bit of a Mrs Slocombe moment there..?
[ahem]
whisht - you wouldn't believe the number of things that I think of but don't dare commit to the blog!
just wanna give a big up to the moderators tonight.
I've posted 3 (4?) times tonight and the things come up really quickly. and kinda irrelevant as noone's reading but still really good service!!
just wanted to put something positive up about moderation.
As far as any service level agreement is concerened they're obviously on top of it tonight.
And just as obviously their SLAs aren't concerned by quality.
thankfully
:¬.
I think it was very brave of Mr Mair to post that, although I don't see how a passing reference to a resemblance to Mr Clarkson can be anything other than flattering.
Big Sis
Always the best policy!
Isn't he just great, though!
Mollyxxx
Admin:
I agree wholeheartedly with you that he was most brave to post it.
It's one of Eddie's great qualities that he has a great sense of humour, and I think he understood that no malice was intended.
But, Admin, I could never regard any comparison with Mr. Clarkson as flattering.
Well, Eddie, such sultry good looks - Who could resist?
Well as I see the photo, poor old Eddie looks as though Jeremy Clarkson has driven over his forehead with a particularly muddy 4x4. Otherwise, what IS all that brown stuff?
And is this really the latest hairstyle for the fashion icon that is D Beckham? How come I hear (& see) more about him on this blog than anywhere else? Just what are those magazines lying round the PM office? Surely not "Hello" "O K" & the like?
As I'm reading the Blog backwards (as usual) I seem to be having even more difficulty understanding what's going on. My divinations show that Big Sis is giving everyone a makeover? Yes? No?
Perhaps I'd better process further back to make sense, how many threads were there today?
Val - frankly, I think if the above is an example of Big Sis's makeover skills, she won't have many more clients queueing up for the service! It's not everyone, just Eddie, in response to one of his wilder flights of fancy in the "Shall I change my hair?" series he trots out every so often for the blog. I think the answer is pretty obvious, don't you?
I can think of only one thing that would be worse than being 'made over' to look like Clarkson: That would be having a transplant of his "personality".
Good point, Appy, good point! But he also looks so ..... flacid, doesn't he? Not sharp like Eddie.
No, never, ever compare Eddie with Clarkson. I could even relinquish my pacifist tendencies in that cause!
Yo, Brother Eddie. Someone's bin messin' wit yo' head.
For real.
Si.
I haven't seen Becks modelling it... but it just looks like a good old-fashioned comb-over to me!!
Sis (48), I think the cause of the similarity (having given it further consideration just now) was that the hairline you have given Eric in this 'ere picture is very low, which makes his forehead look short and his face look long. Now this may be a natural effect of putting a Beckham on a Mair, but it alters ones perception to make him seem less like himself and more like someone-vaguely-familiar-with-a-short-forehead-and-long-face. Clarkson is the ultimate in 'short-forehead-and-long-face', so, on first glance, my brain tried to make sense of the image and grasped at that. I wouldn't for one moment suggest that Eric looked anything like Clarkson under any other circumstance.
Does this explanation go far enough to ensure that the not-so-vague threat of violence is withdrawn??? :-)
'Flacid' is an excellent word or Clarkson, btw.
Appy: Your explanation makes total sense. I did, incidentally, when doing Eddie's makeover, study the shape of his head in relation to Beck's and tried to get it right.... but I think if Eddie DID try the style for himself, he'd be wise to go for a shorter fringe.
Glad you liked the Clarksonian adjective. And, you may be sure, it would take a great deal to make me violent! :o)
Giggle!
Should have been posted today (April 1)
You do look a bit Clarkie, Eric. Not a good idea.
Big Sis, you are a one!
Frances O: Eddie is no April Fool. In fact, Eddie is no fool .......
Big Sis (54 ish)
Dead on!!!!
Bet Clarkie's soooooooo flattered by all this- time to stop, don'cha fink?
Mollyxx
Molly:
More than happy to stop the references to JC. I'd not want to flatter him - flatten, maybe, but never flatter ....
Big Sis (56)
I hope you didn't think I was meaning you, BigS-I was meaninng me, us, them-no-one- certainly not you!
I'm sure your makeover business will thrive(grovel, grovel)..
It'ss just that I can't BEAR the ' flattened' one !
Suspect I'm sounding spiteful! don't mean to- think I'll pop into the beach and look at jonnie's lovely photos.
Mollyxx
Molly:
Neither can I. Bear Mr. C, I mean. But really really really NOT. Even the thought of him makes me cringe.
No need to flatter me - And I don't think I'd get v. far with any makeover business, do you? Wishful thinking on my part, I'm afraid.
