Fiona Nish, runner for MacAulay and Co, shares with us her experiences of today's programme:
Day 3 working at the Beeb as a runner on the MacAulay and Co programme for Radio Scotland. Loving every minute of it - learning a lot from seeing how a radio programme is broadcast live but also getting a wonderful insight into the world of the festival performer...and on a personal level, as a huge Fringe festival goer, getting lots of good recommendations on shows to see. So it's a win, win, win!
My responsibilities this week have basically involved making teas and coffees (easy); distributing the questionnaires to members of the audience and sifting through them to pick out good ones for to mention on air (easy and fun!); writing shows the audience recommend on the whiteboard by the stage (also easy - a skill I really should have perfected over the 20 years I've been a teacher - my 'proper' job); climbing up on stage during the show to place Fred's latte on the table in front of him (ridiculously and terrifyingly difficult!)
Today's show was great once again - a different vibe from yesterday's high tempo energy, but good nonetheless. My personal highlights of the day was 's personalised 'rap' to Fred and Fred's spontaneous off the cuff rap response back to him! Very funny.
Great news - I see that the table has been moved to the edge of the stage which means that for the rest of the week I can place it there while being able to lurk anonymously in the shadows! This - and the promise of more good guests - means I'm looking forward to tomorrow already!
