Tom's Top Tales - nostalgic fizz

The news that Sangs, mineral water and lemonade manufacturer of Macduff, has gone into administration, prompted an outpouring of horror online that their legendary fizzy drink, Moray Cup, could cease production. On the TM Show from Tuesday, there was an eruption of nostalgic fizz: Alpine, Meri-Mate, Blue Moon 'blue' lemonade, Curries and a longing for the days when crates of ginger would be delivered to your doorstep every week, and small communities throughout Scotland each had their own 'local' style of soda. Like Stornoway, as 'Earl Lightcliffe' said:

"There was a lemonade factory in Stornoway in the sixties which produced various types of "pop" under the name Slainte lemonade. As you well know slainte is the Gaelic for good health when you are having a dram. The company didn't last long but a few years ago I came across one of their distinctive bottles on the beach behind Stornoway airport. It was well worn and sea washed so perhaps it was washing around Broad Bay for 40 years.

Slainte!

Earl Lightcliffe from the breezy Hebrides"

Nothing to do with the above topic (though I remember the Hay's lemonade lorry coming to Garmouth when I was young, and it was always Moray Cup we bought at the railway station in Elgin before getting the train to Garmouth. Beeching, how could you?) but can someone tell me how to find the petition to stop Janice Forsyth's programme being discontinued in July, so I can sign it? And if they try to put you off air, Tom, I'll sign one for you too.
