Ashes Cricket 2009

Now for some of you cricket is seen as an extremely boring game. There seems to be an opinion that only our parents, uncles and sports nerds play or watch it. A lot has happened over the years to make it more exciting such as 20/20 cricket which is fast paced, full of runs makes you swing and party hard.

Now when Codemasters dropped the Brian Lara series only a few of my friends were interested. I on the other hand was only into Pro Evo or C.O.D. (Call Of Duty) Well I have to admit it, times have certainly changed my opinion of cricket.

Firstly its Next Gen so the graphics and game is bigger. The tutorial is a must! There are so many different shots/defence, fielding options and bowling, take my advice and learn them well. The main draw back for me is the commentating..... too repetitive and gets annoying after a while. If your not a cricket fan don't waste your money, you'll find this game long and boring, Marmite comes to mind.

But I have to give ratings and good ones at that. I've watched cricket and this game leaves nothing out. The breakdowns of stats, the replays, 4th official and electronic empire, I even love the sponsorships around the ground.

Players get injured and confidence changes depending on how the game is going for your team. I was up late on a 20/20 flex and my tail enders flopped hard, crumbled like pastry. I found myself really liking this game. All the players are authentic even though they don't look like the real ones and you have a pool of players to pick from before you play in Test matches. Play in real time, play on-line and in perfectly replicated stadiums around the world. As I said if you like cricket and you got time on your hands buy it.
