Fifa 10 review
There are a few games that I'm waiting to review..... a) Because I've been playing the current one for 12 months.
b) I'm trying to work out how can they possibly improve it or...
c) I'm a great fan of the genre. This game has ticked all 3 boxes.
Now I want to make it very clear to whoever reads this blog.....
I'm NOT a Pro fan or a FIFA fan! I'M A FOOTBALL FAN! Talk done. As always I play the best football game. There are those who are blinded by the foolish thought of being a die hard Pro or Fifa game player..... what a load of nonsense. Play the BEST game. No one will cuss! You're only denying yourself the pleasure of football and we wouldn't want you to do that.
Now I'm gonna tell it straight..... up until 2009 Pro Evo was "THE ONE" we didn't care about kits or transfers.... the beauty was finding the downloads and players and doing it yourself. The game play was the closest thing to putting boots on yourself and running around like a mad man on a pitch. I was addicted. Then 2009 changed things when Fifa 09 dropped.....like a BOMB!!!! You know where I'm going with this...... and if you disagree you're the one I'm talking about being blinded by loyalty for ALL the wrong reasons.
FIFA10 has improved in places I didn't think possible. Its slick, quicker and it has ALL the whistles and bells, (kits, stadiums, names, commentary etc...) The main areas are in game play with its new 360 degree dribbling movement....creating space has never been easier. Now when I turn I don't feel like I'm doing a 3 point turn on a driving test. Trust me when I say I was BANGING in goals for fun. The game play flows and is less predictable, add the improved A.I logic that your players have means they will watch the ball and anticipate your pass or run and track you. Player touch and distribution is light and quicker than before. They've even refined the shooting to make it more authentic which became more apparent when the guy I played had 3 shots and fluked all 3 goals because his shots were SHOCKING! Defensive AI and tackling has greatly improved as well with players stretching for the ball and timing the tackle brilliantly.....if you get sent off it means your a dirty player (standard)
As a qualified football coach I'm always looking at theses games to help in real life due to the fact each team, formation and tactics are taken from the real peeps from all over the world. From scratch I can BUILD my own set plays from free kicks, try them in the game and then demonstrate to players in real life. I'm like a kid who's just been introduced to Hamleys for the first time.....THIS IS GREAT SHIZZZLE!
This is the BEST football game ever made without a shadow of doubt. I can't wait to put Pro through its paces to see if 2009 was just a blip in a relatively safe franchise.
Lastly, if you're still shouting "I'm Fifa till I die!!!" Or, "I'm a Pro man, Fifa is for girls".....then you really haven't got a clue about the beautiful game we call FOOTBALL.
