i have the first every ps3 that plays ps1 ps2 and ps3 games
i was lucky to get it because they dont sell them any more

i think its wrong to hack your ps3, why pay all that money to buy a ps3 and then get it hacked and it gones wrong your ps3 is dead now

yo he is only saying that he has done it, so he has to man up and show the world it working.
I have herd of this guy ages ago, He is the man in the iphone world.
so i do think he has done it!
But this will defo open it up to the copyright hackers.
he just want to be the main man hacker. And with all this meida he will love it.
There is no point in hacking games coz after u get bored of them they just sit there. I pay 4 pound a mounth and rent them from a online site and post them back when im done.

I would never hack my PS3 as I think it is wrong. The only reason for getting a chipped or hacked PS3 is to play pirated games on it. Also, you said that people copy games because they are too expensive which is not true - if that was the case then why can youget pirated versions of ipone games that, to buy, would be £2.99. Software piracy is THEFT, plain & simple - there are no excuses for it.

This isnt true. There are many many stories of people who have used PS3s with an external OS as a substitute to renting mainframes or supercomputers for computer intensive tasks. This is not possible with the new line of PS3s however, as the option to install an external OS has been removed. This chip will allow people once again to install and operate dedicated programs designed to cater to their needs, opening up a way once again to get cheaper forms of computing power.

Yes, this chip will lead to a lot of piracy i am sure, but it will also lead to a lot of Homebrew which will be beneficial to many people.

The world of technology is like a double edged sword.

No matter what companies do, people will always pirate games or music. Way back when people was running off the Top 40 & coping Spectrum & ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ games at the same time, there were those who'd buy the games out right, as they'd never lower their level. I suppose it's a moral thing, as most Consoles are hackable & plus if you have the time & energy to perform the hack, it can be benifical. Therefore the likes, of multi million pound companies will not go under & the vicious circle will just keep rolling.

I ain't got a PS3, but have a Wii - :o)
