As the department collected together its equipment and tools for relocation to Centre House, the opportunity arose to take a look at some of the heritage equipment developed over the years. In this film Chris Chambers, Principal Engineer, shows Quentin Cooper some of the iconic microphones that have been developed over the years at the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳.

At 10th Mar 2010, smartferret wrote:Excellent item about microphones and it has the added bonus of showing the difference between sound quality using a personal microphone (on Quentin, though only initially) and that obtained by using a cheapo camera mounted mike so beloved of today's minimal crewing (picking up Chris's voice at various distances along with sundry crashes and bangs). Inverse square law anyone?

You showed a ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ that cared about standards and constantly searched for improvements. You covered it in the "never mind the quality feel the width" of modern TV.
