Queen of mean

Photo of Mrs Carroll and RuthAs Ruth and Andy's romance heats up, the words of love between his banshee-like mum Sheila and girlfriend Ruth continue to inspire.

Sheila Carroll: You always were a cold-hearted wee tart.

Ruth: You always were an interfering old bag.

What can Ruth do to ingratiate herself with Mrs Carroll, now it looks like she's going to be her mother-in-law? Gourmet pasta has failed - can you think of other ways they can improve their relationship?

Och deery me,jist fit can Ruth dee.I think it would be a good idea if she and Ruth and Andy sat down and sorted out all their differences. If only she would realise that Ruth is a good person and a good mum and that Ruth and Andy are meant to be together. When Ruth let him down last time she didnt want too, she felt it would spoil his life and opportunity to get on in his new job if Ruth went with him.Ruth was very upset at upsetting Andy but Ruth thought about him not herself.Andys mum is very protective of her son but shes got to realise that no matter what she thinks its their lives. Its their happiness thats what matters and of course with the wee one she should be glad that shes going to gain a grand daughter. If only she would take a tummel to herself and realise how happy they both are and be happy for them both.Shes not helping by being snappy and rude and making snide remarks towards Ruth. The sooner Andy stands up to his mum without being rude the better. I honestly think that no matter who hes with they will never be good enough for her son,and she doesnt want to loose him. But hopefully she will realise very soon just how good a person Ruth is and that they are very well suited.Lifes too short for arguing and falling out with each other.
