Snoring
Soon after they married Marianne and Alan Davey realised they had a noisy nocturnal problem. Alan suffered from chronic eardrum-shattering snoring.
So bad was his nightly cacophony that they had to build an extension for him to sleep in and book separate holiday hotels. Their days were spent in a sleep deprived fug.

Just a quick comment on this.
I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnoea about two and a half years ago. I use a CPAP machine, and cannot say that I find it easy. But I persist. And there is a serious point in all this: if you drive, you must have the condition under control once SA is diagnosed. It is notifiable to the DVLC, and your insurer will want to know about it, otherwise any policy would become, I believe, invalid.
This is serious stuff because not only your life, but the lives of other road users, can depend upon having SA under control. Who knows how many traffic accidents could be prevented if only people recognised that their snoring may be symptomatic of an underlying condition like this?
A further point is that SA can cause, or be symptomatic of heart problems and it is in the sufferer's interests to have these diagnosed and under control. This, indeed, is the case for me.
The remedies for this condition are inconvenient, but the price paid for ignoring it can literally be life threatening to both the sufferer and others.
Ignore it at your peril!
