This Week's Top Tips
Vic Galloway
Presenting his Monday night show on Radio Scotland, and Wednesday nights on Radio 1.
Vic's choice: Good News, the debut by , a religious-themed LP by an Edinburgh artist with a great turn of phrase and melodic suss. The LP was mixed by the legendary Kramer, who during the 80s and 90s worked with Butthole Surfers, Galaxie 500, Bongwater, King Missile...
Stephen Duffy
Currently presenting The Jazz House on Radio Scotland, Wednesday nights.
Stephen's choice: The new album by English jazz singer - 'A Modern Art'. It's got everything I love about great music; funky basslines, hot horns, wit, panache and you accept every word she sings as if it were pure gospel.
Paul McFadyen
The LONG awaited Sub Focus album on . Three years in the making and with many postponed release dates, it finally hits the shelves on 12th October. It's been well worth the wait as it's jam packed with the big dancefloor drum n bass that SF has become known for with also a few wanderings into downtempo territory taking in old skool jungle, dubstep and electro house.
Nick Dempsey
has been a-rocking and a-rolling on my mp3 player this week. Quality rockabilly collection, featuring many weird and wonderful songs later covered in psychotic style by The Cramps. Some well known, some not so well known, all good though!
