Andrew Manze makes his debut
On 4 November the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ SSO's new Associate Guest Conductor makes his debut in the role with a cracking concert featuring music by Brahms and Mozart, and a world premiere by Scottish composer .
We caught up with Andrew earlier in the year for an exclusive interview about the programme for this concert. He gave us an idea of what to expect, along with an insight into what it's like to conduct with the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ SSO.
Andrew is also one of the foremost baroque violinists in the world, but these days he's known mainly as a conductor. As well as his new role with the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ SSO, he's also Principal Conductor of the , Sweden, Principal Guest Conductor of the and has close relationships with leading orchestras all over the world. If that wasn't enough, he's also a fellow of the and a Visiting Professor at the .
And on top of that, as you'll see, he's a born communicator. It's great to meet someone who's passion for great music making shines through everything he does. Oh, and he's a thoroughly nice guy too.
