Adam and Katya say goodbye in Week Seven

From their high-energy Cha Cha Cha to their electric Argentine Tango, Adam Peaty and Katya Jones have made such an impact in the Ballroom this year, but unfortunately their time came to an end in Week Seven.

The pair performed a fun, retro Jive to Little Bitty Pretty One by Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers on Saturday night, but didn't take home the highest scores, landing bottom of the leaderboard. Once their mark was combined with the public vote, Adam and Katya found themselves in the Dance Off for the second week running, this time facing Tilly Ramsay and Nikita Kuzmin.

After both pairs performed again, it was over to the Judges to make the final decision. When placing her vote, Judge Motsi Mabuse said: "I mean, it has been a tough competition. All the couples have performed really, really well. One of the biggest lessons I’ve ever learned while judging is music is key, and I think the couple for me that was more sound to the music is going to be Tilly and Nikita."

Fellow Judges Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood also opted to save Tilly and Nikita, while Head Judge Shirley Ballas explained she would have kept Adam and Katya in the competition.

However the majority decision sealed their fate, sending Adam and Katya on their way.

It was an emotional exit for them both, with Adam saying: "I’ve never had a challenge like this. As an Olympian for 16 years, I’ve pushed my body to places that I never thought it could be pushed. This is just a whole new ballgame and I’ve got so much respect for everyone that dances across the world and to all of these contestants and pros that put themselves on the line every single week, it’s just been a great experience."

Katya also had lovely words for Adam, adding: "I was not ready to be in this position today. But looking back, this is you, you have done all of this. None of us expected you to come from the Olympics. After the Dance Off, I looked at him and he had tears in his eyes. Someone who’s an absolute unbeatable machine that we see defending his titles for seven years non-stop, being emotional about dancing. I really think you deserve a lot more appreciation for what you’ve done and I was not ready for this."

We're so sad to see this couple go, they've brought so much passion and personality to the dance floor every week! But you've got one more chance to catch them together on tomorrow's It Takes Two, 6.30pm on 成人论坛 Two.
