³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio 1's Huw Stephens has been at a whole pile of festivals this summer and shared some of his highlights with us.

"I enjoyed the Green Man Rising stage at the Green Man Festival this year, a new stage showcasing newer artists," he says.

"Seeing Yr Ods headline on Friday night was great, as was their headline set at the Eisteddfod's Maes B in Denbigh. Their second album, Llithro, is a strong one, with the lyrics taking on a more political, conscious bent.

"I also enjoyed seeing Dan Bettridge at Green Man for the first time too. I bought his EP straight after.

"The festival moment of the summer for me was seeing Biffy Clyro headline Reading. They've come a long way since they played to a few hundred people in Coopers Field behind Cardiff Castle some 10 years ago. Their gig was ambitious, strong and oozing charisma and strong rock songs."

Green Man Festival

Green Man had a new stage this year called Green Man Rising, and loads of wonderful new up and coming artists had a chance to play on the stage. I asked Gruffydd Pritchard from Yr Ods how it was headlining the stage.

"Playing at Green Man had been one of our ambitions for a while and the Green Man Rising stage was a brilliant. People wandered over from the main stage straight after Edwyn Collins so we had a decent crowd.

"Most of the crowd were unfamiliar with Welsh language music, so it was nice opportunity to show what we do. The festival itself was one of our favourites of the summer – the atmosphere's very warm and welcoming; hopefully we'll be back!"

Bangor born, London-bound singer Casi Wyn was also on the new music stage at Green Man.

"It was an absolute privilege to have played on the Green Man Rising stage this year," she said, "especially as it was the stage's debut year at the festival. It was my first performance at a major summer festival, and it felt rather surreal to be on the same line-up as Patti Smith - a woman who I truly admire and respect.

"I was quite overwhelmed that so many people had turned up to watch my performance. I'm very grateful to the Green Man team for supporting unsigned and emerging artists from Wales. It was great to be a part of such a special festival."

We've still a few festivals to go this year including Festival No 6, Swn, and Womex, but also two bands have been selected to play on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio 2's Hyde Park Festival: Zervas and Pepper and Georgia Ruth. Georgia is excited in the run up to the event on Sunday.

"I'm so thrilled to have been nominated to play the Introducing stage at this year's Radio 2 in Hyde Park," she said.

"Despite having lived in London a few years ago, I never quite made it to Hyde Park. In fact, green spaces were a bit of a luxury at the time - I worked in the hot, grimy depths of a tube station - and so I'm happy that my first trip to the park will involve being allowed to play music with my band at this fantastic event!"
