Pavarotti may be performing at the great opera house in the sky these days, and the heyday of the Three Tenors at World Cup 1990 may be 20 years ago now, but three Welsh opera stars have formed a new partnership with high hopes for success.
Rhys Meirion, Aled Hall and Alun Rhys Jenkins, all respected singers in their own right, have been performing occasionally together since an appearance at a gig to celebrate last year's Wales v New Zealand rugby match.
, Rhys Meirion said, "We're all professional singers so we checked our diaries to see if we were all available. After some consideration we agreed to do the gig and we went down very well. Our agents got calls wanting us to continue."
A gig in Porthmadog on Sunday for the trio precedes TV appearances and a planned CD.
