Come on feel the noise

IBC, MUNICH – The fun thing about watching games at the International Broadcast Centre is hearing cheers echo around the building when a goal’s been scored.
Even though the IBC is broadcasting to millions of people around the world, any football fan knows it’s virtually impossible to contain yourself when your team scores.
The shape and size of the IBC means noise carries around the building, so even if you’re not sat in front of a TV screen you know immediately when there’s been a goal.
The most vocal supporters at the IBC? Yeah, you guessed it – the Italians.
The ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ office is sandwiched between TV Globo from Brazil, and Daum Communication from South Korea, so there was no doubting who was playing yesterday! (It was mostly cries of derision from TV Globo.)
Earlier in the day our South Korean neighbours politely asked us to take a bit more care when closing the door to our office. So if there are any Koreans out there wondering why they could hear the occasional loud bang during the first few days of coverage, please accept out apologies.
TV pictures are broadcast with a slight delay, so we watch live feeds of the game rather than television coverage.
Unfortunately some of us forgot this on Saturday – the cheers from another part of the office as we were watching Beckham line-up his free-kick ruined the drama somewhat. We won’t be making that mistake again.
PS. I saw a German headline today claiming Chelsea want to sign German left-back Philipp Lahm (who scored a cracking goal against Costa Rica). Has anyone seen any other good transfer gossip in the foreign papers?

Breaking news...
Eidur Gudjohnsen has spurned the advances of Barcelona in favour of a return to his spiritual home - Bolton.
Only joking, it would be nice though!

I aint got any transfer gossip, but if i was owner of a rich club say like chelsea or barca i would seriosuly look into buying luca toni 30 goals in serie A the first player to do it in 50 years and he was at Fiorentina who to be fair are'nt the best team in the league, its amazing tht nobody had approached him.

Manchester United FC have bid £25 million for Torres supposedly. Looks about right after the belleza of a goal he scored against the Ukraine today.

How about 'van the man' and mackaay as a dutch strike force for Bayern Munich. Van Nistlroy is obviously on his way out from Man U and Bayern need to buy a 'big name after Ballack going to Chelsea.

Arsenal are looking to sign Robinho from Real Madrid and Ronaldinho from Barca. Both players have said they are 'flattered' by the interest and will make statements on their future after the world cup.
Well, it makes a change rumours from those two clubs about our players...

Interesting that the Koreans asked you to be quiet. Koreans are always very loud and rude. I have lived in Korea many years and often notice Koreans in other nations, talking and in fact yelling loudly. In places that Koreans go to for vacations, the locals usually hate the Koreans.

Hi, There is no need to display this comment. I just wanted to tell you that I have been following your reports with interest. My brother, Brett, is working there at the international broadcast Centre, in the main control room, I think. He is from Sydney Australia and this is his second World Cup. He was also in the Broadcast team in Korea. I am so Proud of him.
Cheers
Jenny

I'd heard PSV were back in for a mid-twenties striker working at the beeb.
Although nice windfall for the mighty whites from the Eidur "God"johnsen deal.
Ruud for the Reebok??

I was lucky enough to have the evening off last night, so watched the Germany game in a bar with a load of locals. Great atmosphere, although when the game was over they all went home straight away and didn't stay on to celebrate! The atmoshphere back home in Ealing must have been brilliant (massive Polish community there) - well until about 9.45pm...

Apparently the FA have had a re-think about McClaren...
... an unknown by the name of Chris Rigby is now a dead cert for the England post by all accounts.
