The unique Indietracks festival is returning for the third time to Ripley in Derbyshire, taking place from the 24th-26th July 2009 at the Midland Railway station. This is possibly the only festival where you can enjoy a blend of indie pop music and heritage steam trains at the same time! Camera Obscura Over 50 bands will play across three stages, with performances from headliners Teenage Fanclub, Camera Obscura, Art Brut, Au Revoir Simone and Emmy the Great, whilst new and unsigned bands will also get their chance to shine over the weekend. Elefant records are also celebrating their 20th anniversary by having their own outdoor stage featuring several acts from the label. Guests are allowed unlimited rides on the restored steam diesels and locomotives to get to different areas of the festival, to watch some bands performing within the carriages or to simply enjoy the ride. This year the festival will also launch its 'Wigwam Workshops' which give festival goers the chance take part in a range of activities, from how to write a song, to making your own jewellery and bunting. Other attractions include having full access to the railway鈥檚 farm and museum.
