My son took part both in 2007 and 2008. Wouldn't have missed it for the world. They all deserved a medal just for getting IN the lake which didn't look over inviting! JUST WANT TO SAY CONGRATULATIONS TO HIM ONCE AGAIN AND TELL HIM HOW PROUD WE ARE. WELL DONE COL X

MY 1ST IRONMAN BOTTLED IT ON THE SATURDAY WHEN THE WEATHER WAS OUT TO RUIN SOME THING ID BEEN TRAINING SELFISHLY FOR A WHOLE YEAR DIDNT SET MY ALARM HOPE NOT TO GET UP IN TIME BUT AS USUAL NERVES DONT LET YOU SLEEP,BUT IT ALL CHANGED ON THE SWIM MILE AND A HALF IN THE SUN BURST THROUGH THE BLACK CLOUDS FROM THEN ON IT WAS GAME ON NEVER LOOKED BACK FROM THAT MOMENT ON "FANTASTIC DAY" CANT WAIT TO DO ANOTHER 1

My son Charlie Tipper took part for the first time and came home in 12hrs 46mins. The day was so exciting and great fun, truly inspiring and congratulations and well done to every one who took part.

Hi. I participated in the Ironman Triathlon on Sunday and wanted to express my appreciation to the people of Sherborne. I tried to acknowledge those who turned out to watch and cheer on the day, but it is an almost impossible task over so many hours and when in discomfort at times. The wave of my hand or nod of the head seemed little in the way of thanks considering the huge boost I received when passing those on route. The experience is something I will never forget and I wish I could somehow bottle the sensation of running through the town and cycling through the surrounding villages. The people of Sherborne are notably friendly and make me proud to be British. Many thanks for making the day so memorable and I will definitely return in future but perhaps with more leisurely pursuits in mind.
