Zaf was bright, funny and flirtatious. He had a quick wit, and could be a bit of a show-off, but he was always optimistic and full of ideas. He couldn't stand whingers or slackers which is why he got on so well with Adam. In fact, he hero worshipped Adam.
He loved using his deviant imagination in undercover work, although he could be foolhardy and his risk assessment was sometimes weak. He was from a Muslim background, but was not particularly devout. He was very sensitive to being patronised or misrepresented, and he despised those who used their religion as an excuse in any way.
Zaf was tortured to death by the Red-backs, mercenaries who torture spies to extract intelligence.
