Ricky Norwood

An actual EastEnder, London born Ricky Norwood began his career at an early age; honing and developing his craft from the age of 12 at the Theatre Royal Stratford East's Youth Theatre.

After studying Performing Arts at Barking College, Ricky and friends started their own production company, writing, producing and starring in five original productions at Theatre Royal Stratford East. Ricky's other theatre credits include: Daddy Cool (Shaftesbury Theatre), Sick (Almeida Theatre) and The Stones (Royal National Theatre).

Ricky's passion has always kept him focused and driven to achieve his goals. Ricky has recently added his support to an AIDS awareness campaign for MTV and a play which dealt with challenging issues young people face in terms of gang culture and youth crime.

"I am so excited to be on the show," said Ricky, who is looking forward to being part of a national treasure in British television. "It's an honour to now be part of a show that has been on in my house for as long as I have been alive. I am born and bred in the East End - a stones throw from the real Albert Square - it feels like a homecoming. I love being part of a cast that feels like family and can't wait to have a scene in the Vic."
