Unplanned, but enriching experience

After finishing my degree in French and Spanish at Nottingham University 5 years ago, I really didn't know what to do. As I had enjoyed my stint teaching English at a French school, I thought about giving EFL (English as a foreign language) a try. I did the certificate for EFL and plumped for a job in a place I knew nothing about - Trieste. I intended staying 6 months - 5 years down the line I'm still there and seriously considering staying for good. I love the job, the lifestyle and of course, my Triestino boyfriend - says it all! I picked up the language very quickly and now am sometimes unaware as to which language I'm actually speaking - Italian or English. Definitely an enriching experience, despite the fact that it was all unplanned!
