Roomful of slags (English/Dutch)

I recall seeing a sign for slagroom in the Netherlands. Can you enlighten me?

Editor's note: It simply and innocently means 'whipped cream', literally 'beaten cream'.

In South Africa, you will sometimes see a shop premises "Slaghuis" which is an abattoir or butchery ship.

In another article I saw the Dutch word for useful and I was quite confused. I'm a German native and the word nuttig in German slang is a very bad and harsh way to describe women who are not dressed appropriately, whereas useful in German is ²Ôü³Ù³ú±ô¾±³¦³ó.

Further to Julia's Dutch word slagroom, cream, I saw signs in the Netherlands saying slagboom which would conjure quite weird thoughts to English speakers. However, it quite boringly refers to barriers that can be raised, lit. 'hitting-tree'.
