Drink, lots of it

On my wife's first trip outside the US, she flew to meet me in Paris while I was on assignment in Montpelier. The room wasn't ready when she arrived at the hotel at 7am, so she went to get some breakfast. She asked for un croissant and they gave her a cup of tea, probably thinking she asked for une boisson, a drink. When she repeated her request, they brought her the whole pot!
