Hello Good-bye
My grandpa once walked into a bar in France and exclaimed au revoir. Realising his mistake he quickly walked out again before turning bright red. My family has never let him live it down.

To say hello, it's "bonjour." To say "have a good day", it's "bonne journée". Needless to say, I pranced around Paris using bonjour like aloha, and got many snickers until a shopkeeper finally told me my mistake!
That's really funny. I can actually picture myself doing that.
I've done worse: I've said, "Bonsoir!" (Good evening) to someone at 10am. They must've thought I'd had a great night!
