With my deepest confusion
After a wonderful time staying with a family in England, I decided to buy them a present before leaving. I went to a shop and the shop assistant asked me if she could help me. I told her I was looking for a present to show my gratitude to someone. When I found the ideal present, she suggested I should also choose a card. I didn't like the ones with 'love' as I thought the word love meant too much and I didn't like 'thank you' as I thought it was not enough ... but yes, there it was - the perfect card. In Spanish you would have said: con mi más profunda simpatÃa and there it was: affection, exactly the right word I thought - 'with my deepest sympathy'. Great! When the shop assistant saw the card she started to laugh and well, I had to laugh too when she told me the meaning.
