Fertile stupidity

There is a very particular Italian proverb which says: La madre dei cretini é sempre incinta, lit. the mother of the idiots is always pregnant, used to show disapproval when somebody does a very stupid thing.
I was wondering, is there a similar or equivalent idiom also in English to convey the same meaning?

In English the saying is "there is a fool born every minute."

I think the closest we have to it Chiara is "there's one born every minute."

In English we say about fools (idiots) "There's one born every minute" - which is not so different!
