An unaccustomed taste
While we were on holiday in rural France an old lady from across the road invited us for a glass of wine. We accepted and went over. The lady poured a white wine for us and we drank this nectar-like substance. A very sweet desert wine but stunningly drinkable. My mother asked what it was called and the reply came: Pipi d'Ange, angel's wee! It was home made, it turned out, but the translation took my mum some time!

In German, there is brand of wine called Liebfrauenmilch - the milk of our dear woman (Mary) ... and another one is called Nacktarsch, naked bum!
The rivalry between the wine producers of the Ahr and Mosel valleys in Germany came to a point where each would try to copy each others' denominations, until the Mosel produced the Moselschlecker. To which the Ahr had no reply....
(Arschlecker, lit. "arse licker" means creep.)
