A real sinkhole
I've always had a fear of talking about 'sinkholes' in Spanish for fear of confusing it with the word for 'turd.' The Yucatan pensinsula in Mexico is full of underground rivers, lakes and sinkholes, which they call cenotes. The word is strikingly similar to the word cerote, which is a vulgar term for a bowel movement in Mexico. I'd sometimes exchange the terms, causing for mighty embarassing and certainly funny situations!
