Liquid and Envy replaces the former Creation nightclub on Churchgate and was officially opened on Friday 10 November after a 拢2.5 million refurbishment. Liquid caters for the over 18's while Envy caters for the over 23's and more mature clientele in Leicester. Both are open till 3am at the weekends, but are also open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. My thoughts... I went along for a sneak preview ahead of the official opening. I was shown in via the entrance to Envy, and was pleasantly surprised. A mixture of red and black decor gives the room a sophisticated yet trendy feel.

Two large bars cater for the drinkers, but if you don't want to leave your comfy seats, there is a waitress service. The dance floor in Envy is the centrepiece. It's covered in black sparkling marble and looks great with the state of the art lighting. The music mix ranges from 80's to party classics. A short corridor links Envy to Liquid. Over 23's can cross between the two clubs thanks to a unique UV stamp system.

I did notice a few people attempting to get into Envy but if your hand doesn't glow you're not going in. Liquid... Once in Liquid you can see a huge contrast.听 It's predominantly white decor makes this a bright vibrant room. The one thing that stands out is the 360 degree projection. The DJ's can show videos or graphics above the dance floor so that the crowd can be totally immersed in the music. As well as the graphics, a state of the art sound system pumps out an upbeat eclectic mix of house, commercial dance and RnB.

Having experienced an evening at Liquid and Envy I can safely say that I had a fantastic night. And I'm not the only one to agree. Well known faces from TV and Music are already lined up to appear at the venue... so we'll keep you posted! |
